Literacy & Numeracy for Adults

includes reading and numeracy for the workplace and project based work to develop employment skills such as teamwork and communication.


Please take time to read the student guide for information about fee structure and other enrolment policies.


# Listed fees are for eligible Government funded clients.
Courses will only run if there are sufficient numbers.


Certificates in General Education for Adults (CGEA)


What is CGEA?

The Certificates in General Education for Adults (CGEA) are four accredited certificates which allow adults (15+) who have not completed secondary education to improve their literacy, numeracy and general education skills.  The Certificates provide a range of educational opportunities to assist adults to meet personal needs, increase participation in the community, the workplace and further education and training.

Certificate II in General Education for Adults
Certificate III in General Education for Adults

Date: Mon, Tues and Wed
Time: 9.00am – 3.00pm Duration:  3 days per week over 20 weeks 


All students whether new or returning need to undertake a standard Language Literacy and numeracy test to determine the appropriate level for enrolment.


Assessment methods may include:
observation by trainer or assessor
reflective work journals
oral presentations
oral questions and discussion
written explanations or text
folios of tasks or investigations
performing practical tasks
